This is possibly the most middle-aged post I will ever write – no promises! I’ve been thinking about writing it for years, but have yet to actually post so here goes. I am definitely a fan of investing my money to make life more convenient. This means that I will do copious amounts of research into every single product and brand before making decisions, because I want to buy something once and have it just work for me. I will always review thoroughly before recommending the things I buy, and am careful with my money (mostly, food doesn’t count!), so if I’m showing you a product, it’s because I LOVE IT!
I feel like a saleswoman when talking about these items in particular. Sorry, not sorry, to all of my friends who have yet to be influenced by my sales patter!
Top 6 Products That Make Life Easier
*Please note, there are Amazon affiliate links throughout, where if you buy from my recommendation, I might get a small commission.

When I first bought a robot vacuum (okay, Hoover), it felt like a silly splurge. My cat was shedding daily, and cleaning my large flat with just a brush was driving me mad. No carpet meant I hadn’t bothered with a vacuum – until I gave in and looked into robots. I figured the time saved would be worth it.
I bought one in July 2021, and it’s still going strong. It’s handled cat hair, fluffy bunnies, hay, and even the occasional bunny poop. My floors are vacuumed daily with no effort, and my scientific test of cleanliness is that my white socks stay white.
At £129.99, it’s been one of my best buys – just £32.50 per year so far! Many now come with mopping features too, which has me eyeing an upgrade.
I chose Eufy for the solid reviews, trusted brand, and great range to suit different needs.

Revlon Hairdryer and Volumiser Brush
This is how I get my post-shower hair dry and styled in 5 minutes flat! I used to spend ages trying to dry it, while also making sure it sat nicely, and I’m not a hairstyling type or a patient woman, so this has changed things in a drastic way. Firstly, even if I shower late, I can be on time for things which is a win in itself, but also my hair looks so much shinier and ‘done’ with it. I actually get volume in this flat hair of mine which was an ongoing struggle and get compliments all the time on the style, when really I’ve just whacked this on for a few minutes.
I can’t believe more people don’t have these, but this is something I cannot live without now! And I tried – the bunnies chewed the cable and I just couldn’t do it so re-purchased.
First bought in 2019, replacement bought in 2021, and still going strong. Used almost daily!
They’re only £29.99 at the moment (at time of writing) but I paid £49.99 and would again and again!

I think there is a misconception that Egyptian cotton is really expensive. While it’s more expensive than the cheapest bedding sets in the shops, it is so worth the difference. Better sleep = easier life! Firstly, your heat is more regulated. Since changing to only cotton bedding, I can really feel the difference. The quality is usually higher – you do have to be mindful as just because the thread count is high, it doesn’t mean it’s stitched well. It’s also lasted much longer than previous sets.
I think people believe the higher the better when it comes to thread count too, but that’s not neccesarily the case. I did a LOT of reading on this and for bedding it’s best to go for 300-600 thread count. This isn’t one of the sets that I have, but it is the closest I could find, has the best reviews and a decent price. I think I’m actually going to replace one of my sets soon with this.

I only bought this product this year when my tumble dryer broke and we didn’t want a new one in case there was already one in our next rental home – we were moving in the coming months.
My Mum actually saw this exact one on Facebook Marketplace for a fiver! I figured I’d try it for that price and it has changed everything! If there’s one thing I don’t keep up with, it’s laundry (especially with no dryer). I am basically a 1950s housewife now because all laundry is done and dried in a day – our new house is a 3-day dry on the airer type place. No clothes hanging around on airers, no piles of washing waiting for their turn. I’ve seen the bottom of my laundry basket finally! We’ve even decided not to use a tumble dryer in this home – though I may still get one in future because nothing beats the fluffiness of some items out of them!
Clothes dry within an hour, although longer for jeans, etc. It means that clothes I was previously worried about putting in the dryer can be dried quickly too.
It’s £45 at the moment, and I’d absolutely pay that, I’m just lucky I got it so cheap! Definitely worth a scout on Marketplace if you want to try but are unsure.

A cheap and cheerful purchase that will definitely make your life easier. I’d ignore the brand name on these, because they do have to abide by any regulations, and my Energizer one just wasn’t as good and was double the price.
You may think you never need to recharge batteries, but then you will definitely find yourself needing to go and buy more at some point.

Airwick Automatic Air Freshener
Want your home to smell nice even for unexpected visits? Every single person that works into my home asks what the nice scent is, and it’s this! I don’t like leaving plug-ins on, but this automatic battery-powered air freshener is honestly one of my best home purchases. I have the refills on subscription so it never runs out.
It feels pricey for something so small at £11, and the refills are £5 and last about a month, but it will make such a difference to that ‘walking in the door’ feeling. I have ours in the bathroom, but people can smell it as soon as they walk in the house so it has a strong scent.
I think I might write more of these posts because I just want everyone to have a simple life, and these items are what make mine easier. I added links, because why not, but regular readers over the years will know I am (possibly too) honest in reviews.
