Focus and motivation is something that people with a side hustle can really struggle with. After a long week of full time work, getting anything else done for business or even personal purposes is the last thing on my mind sometimes. Its something that has become an ongoing struggle for me so when I found about the subscription box, Allow Focus, for female entrepreneurs with a full time job, I knew I’d have to get one!
Now and then I need a kick up the bum when it comes to moving forward with my business and blog plans, and Allow Focus has given me just that with the monthly subscription box for women trying to build a business.
As you may know, I have an online gift shop, Buy Me Something, that has been completely neglected since I started my job last year. I work full time as a digital marketer, plus run the blog (albeit not very well), and I have a few other things I’m working on that I’m not revealing just yet.
Monthly motivation to remind me of why I’m doing this and to give me new ideas on how to focus is just what I need.
The Allow Focus subscription box is built for those working full time and trying to build a business. It’s a monthly box filled with hand-selected items from other female-owned businesses. If anyone can motivate you, it’s people who have been there and done it!
Each month, there is a theme, and the theme of the first box is time management – ideal for me!
As well as the products, which include business books, stylish stationery and more, you get a few tips from the owners too to help you on your journey. I’ve kept the little card in my diary to give me little reminders while working.
The box was filled with confetti and had a party popper to kick off the new subscription! Luna and I had a great time playing with it all! I think she’s a fan!
Here’s what I got in my August box – look how much there is! – I already can’t wait for the next one!
What’s in the box?
First up, was the perfect productivity planner from Azalea Design Co, a digital website design and branding studio helping small businesses to bloom. The planner has weekly pages to get you into action, plus space for top priorities and goals and rewards.
Each month there will be tips for focusing on work, with this month’s theme being time management, and they can all go in this handy file.
I love motivational business books, and I haven’t come across this one by Carrie Green yet. She Means Business is a book especially for entrepreneurs to turn dreams into reality! The Amazon reviews say it all about this book -it’s worth checking them out first.
Also received were these great little gifts; door hanger by Allow Focus, Plan to Plan planner stickers, a She Who Dares Design planner band and paperclip set, a colourful boss babe pen by Studio Note and an amazing luxury chocolate fudge brownie from The Letterbox Bakery.
Each night, I’m trying to read more and the She Means Business book plus a brownie is the perfect way for me to relax and delve into the mind of a great entrepreneur.
I absolutely loved this Allow Focus box and can’t wait for the next one! It’s everything I would want, but not anything I’d think of buying for myself. I love that there is so much in it and it has a purpose.
I think it’s definitely worth the monthly fee of £29.95, as the book alone is something I would buy, plus I love Etsy products and supporting other businesses. I’m also willing to pay for advice and and a monthly hit of motivation so getting it all in one package is perfect.
Do you think an Allow Focus subscription would be useful to you? Do you have a side hustle you’d love to spend more time on?
Disclaimer: This box was kindly gifted to me by Allow Focus in order to check it out with no pressure to review.
