The Best Breakfast In Leeds!

On the weekend, I went for a catch up and some breakfast with the wonderful Jennie from Life Styled By Jennie, before an all day blog event #BlogAtTheBeach.

I eat out a lot in Leeds, but breakfast is always a tougher choice for me as I’m not really a poached egg and avocado on sourdough kinda girl! Although I have finally tried American pancakes and I love them! Mostly though, I want a good ol’ English Breakfast, but the ones I’ve tried in Leeds have been just average really. I cook them at home on the weekends, so it doesn’t feel as much of a treat when it’s not great.

I’ve been trying a few more breakfast and brunch places lately, mainly because I now know people who a) get up in the mornings and actually do things, b) love the aesthetics enough to sit with me taking pictures while our breakfast gets colder, and c) are willing to drink Prosecco with me while brunching at an inappropriate hour!

If-Coffee Bar

We arrived at my new favourite place, If-Coffee Bar,  just after it opened at 10am on Saturday and when I got there it was so much better than I’d imagined. It is the cutest and cosiest place to hang out, with fairy lights and plants all over, wooden interiors and quirky decor. I was instantly in love and would like them to come and decorate my flat!

The Breakfast

I went for the classic English Breakfast this time. There were a lot of things on the menu I would have liked though. There are pancakes, poached eggs and avocado on toast, vegetarian options, everything! I kept it classic in true Brit style and paired my meal with a cup of tea! Jennie went all morning fresh and got a kale, spinach and mango smoothie.

Look how big it is! And they gave me loads of mushrooms, which is always a winner for me! I was so full and happy. The food was perfectly cooked and of fantastic quality. Very much an upgrade on the standard English breakfast you find elsewhere. It was the perfect start to the day! You have to go and try it because anything I say won’t do the place justice.

It’s on Call Lane, so a bit of a hidden gem if you don’t regularly pass there. I hadn’t heard of it, but it’s been there for a while, previously called Graze. It’s reasonably priced with my breakfast and tea coming to exactly £10. It can easily be much more in Leeds City Centre.

If-Coffee Bar is the type of place you can go and be hipster cool with your laptop or a book, but equally can take your Nan for a nice drink and bite to eat. I will definitely be hanging out there more often. I think I have finally found a little spot where I would be happy to work on my blog. It’ll also be great for taking a break from shopping, or meeting up with friends. I’ve seen they do cocktails too so will definitely be sampling a few soon! Where’s your favourite breakfast spot? Are you more avo on toast, or a full English kinda person? Let me know in the comments as I’m nosy and love food inspiration!
