Neath Port Talbot, Wales

On my most recent trip home to Wales, I met up with a friend I haven’t seen for a while. He picked me up in the Valleys and took me on a trip to his home county, Neath Port Talbot in South Wales. As well as a lovely drive, we stopped at some gorgeous places. I’ve never really spent proper time there before, so it was fun to see new places. Luckily, we had fantastic weather too!

I thought I’d share a few photos! Believe it or not, these are what’s let after I narrowed it down – it’s just too pretty! No filters or edits, just naturally perfect and beautiful!

Neath Abbey

Our first stop was Neath Abbey. It was quite a drive from the Rhondda and we’d been out a while, so we grabbed some Tesco goodies and had a little picnic there. I love places like this, getting to see the ruins and imagine what the place once looked like. In fact, I went to another Abbey on Friday in Leeds! Perfect picnic spots!

Margam Country Park

Known for its deer park (No deer when we went though, not the season!), Margam Country Park is an 850 acre country park estate. We took a leisurely walk around the beautiful grounds, farm and estate and it’s easy to just lose time wandering around there. There are events sometimes that would be worth checking out, but it was lovely just to go for a long, but interesting walk.

Aberavon Beach

On the way back to the Valleys, we had one last stop at Aberavon Beach and I’ve definitely been missing out! The beach stretches out for miles with no interruptions. There’s also THE best cafe and  ice cream hut there. So many flavours and a cute spot to relax.

I love posting these photo diaries to show everyone the beauty that is Wales, but also so I have a place to look back on my days out easily.

Have you been to any of these places? Where’s your favourite part of the UK?
