More About Me, Travel

Travel Tag

The lovely lifestyle and travel blogger, Iga from IgaBerry, nominated me to take part in the Travel Tag (although anybody can join in!). Iga’s blog fills me with wanderlust and envy with incredible photos, travel inspiration and beautifully written posts. You should deifnitely go and check it out.

I don’t really write about travel on the blog much, as I don’t do anywhere near enough of it. I have spent the last couple of years saving and enjoying life in the good ol’ UK. I have also never been on a ‘summer holiday’, it’s always been to new cities, etc. I am definitely planning on taking some more trips in the near future though. The travel tag is a nice opportunity to delve into it all!

My Answers

You are leaving tomorrow to start a life in a new country, where would you go?

I would actually quite like to live in Hungary. I think it’s a beautiful country with a bit of everything. I’d like to be in a place with rich culture and history, good people and good food. I found all of that in Hungary and could easily imagine living there.  I know it’s not as glamourous as some choices, but I really loved it. The only problem is the lack of sea!

You can take someone for a weekend away to the place you had the best holidays ever, where would that be and who would you take to go with you?

Actually, I would go home for this one (I’m so adventurous!). I would take my boyfriend home to Pembrokeshire in Wales, we’d get a holiday home near Tenby and spend the weekend completely relaxing, showing him all the places I used to hang out and taking him on a tour. Even though he has been with me loads before, we are always visiting people and running about the place, but we both always have a great time when visiting Tenby and it’s a place we would definitely live, so I know this would be a winner! Plus, when home looks like this…

You can get married wherever you want to, your budget is limitless, what is your choice?

If it was completely unlimited, I’d get married on a private island with all of my friends and family in tow. We’d hire the whole place and have the island to ourselves and all have some time out from real life. Matangi Island resort, Fiji is gorgeous! That’ll do 😉

During your travels you can bring back home one animal as a pet, which one would you pick?

A koala, of course! I have always loved them. I hear they’re actually a little vicious, but mine wouldn’t be. It would be docile and cute and give me koala hugs.

You can get back in time and relive one family trip, which one?

This is why travel tags are hard. I have only ever taken one trip with my family (unless we count holidays with my cousin). They’re not explorers really. The trip was to Scotland to meet my Dad’s family. It was amazing, and I’d love to go again. I’d definitely want to relive it, but it would be hella awkward if we did it again in current times.

What is the first thing you would pack for a one year travel around the world?

Camera. Always. I would rather wear the same clothes for a year (washing them of course!), than not have a camera.
Fun side story, my friend lent me her camera years ago, before I had one good enough (against my will as I lose everything ever!) to go to The Netherlands with. I took some great pictures, loved the place, managed to look after the camera and kept it safe. Lost it in the airport back in the UK. I bought her a new one, but lost all of my pictures, any that she had, and was a student without a job at the time. Fail!

What would your fantasy 100th birthday destination be, and why?

I’d like to be on a cruise with other older people, all celebrating how awesome we are while travelling to lots of different places.

During your travel you can learn one sport to become a pro, what would that be?

Probably mountain biking. I could get to things more easily, see new parts of places and go on fun treks. I mean, I can ride a bike, but put me on one on an actual mountain or rough edge and I’ll probably cry!

What do you think of my choices?

Your Turn!

I’d like to nominate anybody who fancies doing the travel tag. A person that especially comes to mind is Kelly from This, Tatt and The Other so that’s one nomination! If you post your tag to the Travel Tag on IgaBerry.com, you could win a prize too.

I picked Koala Bear too! They are way to cute not to take them back. I was surprised to read that you would like to go to Hungary. It is a rather unusual choice but after meeting a few friends that live there I must admit. Hungary is beautiful! Thank you so much for taking part in Travel Tag!

This is such a cute tag! And I love your answer to the second question. Sometimes it’s nice to get away at home. And your photo of the area looks beautiful, so I definitely don’t blame you for choosing it!

This is a cool insight. Hungarian was such a difficult language though.
