I haven’t been a fan of Lush for very long. My friend bought me a gift set years ago, which I loved, but I didn’t really take any notice of the brand.
The only things I’d ever bought, which should have been an indicator on how good the products are, are the Lip Scrub and a small Moisturiser pot. Then another friend bought me some of the Lush Bath Bombs in January, only this year, and I fell in love with the brand!
Being the little rebel that I am, the hype around Lush actually made me avoid it. I do this too often!
My love of baths means I’ve used a fair few bath products in my time, but I was so impressed by the Lush bath bombs that they are now a firm favourite. The way they melt is fun and show that there is a carefully thought out process behind making them.
Bath Bomb & Soap
When looking in Lush in Leeds for a giveaway prize for the blog, I asked for advice on the best products they have at the moment. The staff were so helpful and friendly! I was so impressed with their knowledge and how genuine they seemed with their love for the products.
The Experimenter bath bomb is a classic, but I’d never tried it. I was shown how it melts and it looked incredible so I had to have it for the giveaway! Plus it has popping candy!
I was also told about the Sea Salted Caramel soap, which was previously only available in the Oxford Street store. It smells amazingly sweet and has a sea salt crust which can act as a gentle exfoliator to the skin. Not everyone has access to these products, so I had to pick some up for the giveaway! I haven’t used this myself, but I almost want to keep it!
Shower Scrub & Face Mask
I picked up a couple of things for myself as well, of course! First impression: look at how vibrant the colours are!
Lush Don’t Look At Me Face Mask
I love face masks, and have tried so many! The Lush ‘Don’t Look At Me’ mask makes me feel so fresh. It totally dyed my face the first time I used it, but that’s fine I guess. What I mean by that is that I found it hard to remove the bluey shade from my super pale skin. It came off after a couple of washes and I did not have to Smurf it for days.
My skin was smooth afterwards and the next day, but I need to use it a few more times to make a real difference. The advice in store on the face masks was also brilliant. It is definitely always worth asking the staff as they know what they’re talking about.
Lush Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub
The Rub Rub Rub Shower Scrub can be used on the body and in hair. I have never thought of using a scrub on my head, but I wish I’d done it sooner! Someone mentioned it in a blog post and blew my mind a bit. It does say on the tub, but having never bought this one, it was news to me.
My scalp has always been quite dry and this shower scrub was a perfect solution as it seemed less so after using it. I used the scrub before using my regular shampoo and conditioner and my hair felt extra clean and fresh afterwards. It did feel a bit uncomfortable at first, but lathered really well and was not as messy as I thought it would be. I actually didn’t need to wash my hair as soon as usual either, but that could be down to a number of things I suppose. I will probably use it once a week as a treatment.
As for using it as a body scrub, I found it really good as a gentle exfoliator. You can use it on dry skin, which is probably best for a really good scrub. I love a really strong fragrance usually, such as coconut or fruit, but this didn’t have much of a fun scent, just…salty? Soon rectified by fruity fruity shower gel though!
Overall, I was impressed at the price of both, with the Don’t Look At Me face mask being £6.95 and the Rub Rub Rub body scrub at £14.95 for a huge 665g tub. Compared to similar products, this a great price and they actually work! I would definitely purchase both again.
