Tina’s Tried & Tested Tuesday Tips #2

I’m sure you’ve heard of it, but have you tried it?

Untitled design (1)

Apparently if you place a wooden spoon over a boiling pan, the water won’t rise above it.

I didn’t really believe this at first. Have you seen water boil over? It’s uncontrollable! So while boiling some pasta, I gave it a go and purposely let the water go crazy. But it didn’t. It actually stopped at the spoon and calmed down!

You can only use a wooden spoon though, as it has to be colder than the boiling water.

This one I’ve found really useful as sitting there watching the pan just isn’t my thing!

Conclusion: It works!

Tried it? Or going to?

Feel free to send me some tips to try!

I know, it’s ridiculous. I really thought there was no hope and I was just destined to have water everywhere or keep turning it up and down 👍 no thanks! X
