Beauty Review: Simple Gift of Goodness

I have been a Simple fan for over ten years. As a teenager, I was lucky enough not to get many spots. In fact, I’ve hardly had any my entire life. Please don’t hate me and keep reading!

I starting using Simple from the age of about 14, as I wanted something sensitive and not made up of harsh chemicals in order to keep my skin as it was. I had found some soaps irritated my skin a little so thought it was best to stick with sensitive skin products.

From the Simple website:
Simple was the first UK skincare brand to formulate a cleansing product that contained no colour and no perfume; designed to care for even the most sensitive skin.

Perfect! I can’t tell if Simple kept my skin clearer or if I was lucky, but I am sure starting a skincare routine early with a great brand really helped.

Since then, I have tried other brands and many of you will know I’m a huge fan of Body Shop Vitamin E creams. I started using Body Shop as I wanted to drench my dull, dry skin in moisturiser.

Since then, I’ve only ever used sample sizes of Simple while travelling – as I find I need something fresh and light after travelling. I also religiously use the facewipes as have never found any to be quite as good as these.

I was lucky enough to receive this Gift of Goodness set by Simple, which was a great opportunity to see how I feel about these products now, almost 15 years after I started using them!

The set includes:

  • Kind to Skin Purifying Cleansing Lotion 200ml
  • Kind to Skin Soothing Facial Toner 200ml
  • Kind to Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser 125ml
  • Cosmetics Bag

I’ve been slacking lately when it comes to a skincare routine so this was definitely needed!

I used the cleansing lotion first, then went on to the toner and moisturiser. I love that there is no fragrance as find that sometimes it can be a little off-putting when spread all over my face!

The cleansing lotion made my skin feel really fresh and the toner added to this feeling. I almost didn’t want to cover it with the moisturiser. However, I went ahead and used it. You only really need a bit as it spreads well so will definitely last a while. The moisturiser is so light, it feels like it’s barely there, yet my skin was noticeably softer.

The cosmetic bag was a great extra and makes this a nice gift rather than just a skincare package. It’s wipe clean so great for keeping in the bathroom. I would definitely give this as a gift, especially to my younger sister who I also introduced to Simple!

I would definitely recommend trying these products, especially to people with sensitive skin.bThe set is usually about £10, but was down to £5 over Christmas, but for such large bottles it’s easily worth the full price.

Disclaimer: This Simple gift set was sent to me free of charge. However, all opinions are my own and this is a completely honest review.

  • Hey Tina! =) I love Simple too, brilliant if you’re just after something which will do the job without any hidden nasties! I used a travel sample of the moisturiser when I was travelling in OZ and it worked brilliantly! I’ve since made a lot of changes to my skincare routine but Simple will always have a place in my heart because of its well, simplicity!
