One of my closest, oldest friends is getting married in a couple of weeks! I’ve been looking for an outfit for the occasion, and have ideas of things I would like to wear, but they exist only in my head (as usual).
I want to look sophisticated without being boring. I don’t want anything that stands out too much (not that attention will be easy to take away from the beautiful bride), but also don’t want to get lost against a blank wall!
I found a Quiz dress in Debenhams that had the exact colouring and type of print I was after. I can’t believe I found one so cheap after looking everywhere at all prices. The only thing is, I’m not sure about the shape. I know girly is okay for weddings, and it will be a vintage-style, relaxed affair, so think it is a good dress. But, is the shape a bit off?
I usually go for much more flowing dresses, or body-con styles. I’m not used to skater dresses, and not sure I can pull it off either. It is quite rigid, and for someone who is nowhere near thin, I’m not sure these dresses work. Obviously a picture with me wearing it will help, but I haven’t got all of the pieces yet.
What do you think?
I have decided to team it with these coral shoes from New Look. I’m not keen on white shoes, and think they would look terrible at the first sign of mud in the lovely country house garden. I also considered nude ones, but these seem more fun.
I haven’t got the bag yet, so not sure this is the one I’ll get, but it will likely be the same shade as the shoes. I feel a wedding is my chance to be girly, fun and summery.
I have a nude clutch that is great, so if I don’t like any bags, I may change my mind on the shoes!
I’ll also wear either a peachy coloured blazer or drape a scarf over myself depending on the weather.
I’m sure it will all come together when my items arrive! I’m sure…
On the plus side, what a bargain outfit! I didn’t even do it on purpose with this one!
£60 for an entire outfit = more money for tequila! (Or, ya know, lady drinks..cocktails?)
Do you have the same dilemma this summer? What have you chosen? I haven’t been a normal guest at a wedding since I was a child and clearly need help! One of the upsides of being bridesmaid is you don’t have to make your own choice.
