In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Sparkling or Still.”
What’s your idea of a perfect day off: one during which you can quietly relax, doing nothing, or one with one fun activity lined up after the other? Tell us how you’d spend your time.
My perfect day off would be strolling around a seaside town, sampling local dishes, and relaxing by the sea with a magazine, watching the birds and trying to hide my chips from them. Having a look in quirky, independent shops.
I’d spend time taking photos, taking in the beauty of every day life. Of course, my boyfriend would ideally be with me and we’d explore the place together, talking about everything we’re thinking at the moment.
I’d see some friends, maybe have a barbecue later on in the day. I’d see some family. That’s something I don’t get to do all that often now.
I’d stay up late, talking about life and the world and everything in between. Putting the world to rights over a hot chocolate or glass of wine.
As I was writing this, I realised how lucky I am. As I actually get to do this on the weekend, for the first time in a long time. Moving to Leeds from seaside towns was difficult as I enjoy those moments so much. However, it would pretty much be the same thing in Leeds, just without the sea!
This weekend I get to go back to Wales, and have all of this!
